Art Club – students will work on a variety of projects including printmaking, computer graphics, and painting not part of the regular art classes
Asian Caucus- Asian Caucus is a multicultural club at Lincoln Southwest in which our goal is to spread Asian culture and awareness in our school and community.
DECA – an association/showcase club for marketing education students; members participate in activities conferences and competitions; learn to take part in community economic development; develop leadership skills; additional meeting times outside of club day, dues $20 before Sept 30. Sponsor sign-off required.
Drama Club - This club is for all students who are interested in any aspect of theperforming arts. Drama Club meets after school and in the evenings. See Mr. Henrichs in the Black Box for a calendar or check his website.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America is the largest student organization in the United States. Members learn networking and life skills and are actively involved in community building and fundraising events. The main focus of Southwest FBLA is gearing up for competition at the State Leadership Conference. State winners are then given the chance to compete at the National Leadership Conference (NLC) where students can win cash prizes as well as scholarships that only FBLA members are eligible to receive. FCA - Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a club that is focused on developing relationships with other Christian athletes and using sports as a vehicle to impact the world for God. We meet on Sunday evenings at the homes of our members for a variety of fun and activities: Bible Studies, mini-golf, bowling, pizza parties, Weekend of Champions, and we have special guest athletes speak from the University of Nebraska. Everyone is welcome - you do not have to be an athlete to join. A Breakfast Club meets at school on Friday mornings. This is not a school sponsored club
FCCLA – Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; Family Consumer Science club; offers opportunities for competition, leadership and travel; dues $15
French Club – members will expand their knowledge of French culture; activities may include trip to UNL French Week, art projects, cheese tasting, French cinema & fundraising; sign up if you are considering ACTIVE participation
Friendship Club –Members of Friendship Club will support individuals with disabilities both in and out of school by developing friendships through social activities and community involvement. Friendship Club members will also support the LSW Special Olympics team by attending Special Olympics events.
GLBTSA – Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Straight Alliance; club formed to support those who are gay or lesbian; do not have to be gay or lesbian to join; welcomes people of all sexual orientation to help spread tolerance and equity
Health Occupation Students of America -The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development. Students are encouraged to explore various areas of health care, and expand their leadership skills. HOSA is about providing opportunities for students to learn and achieve. Members participate in activities, conferences and competitions; as well as take part in community awareness/health projects. Dues $20 before Sept 30.
Japanese Club – members learn about and celebrate the Japanese culture; language, food, festivals, calligraphy, outside speakers; additional meetings once/month outside of school; do not have to be in Japanese
Key Club – student-led organization teaches leadership through community service; only students who are serious about serving & helping others should join. Members will pay annual national dues. Sponsor sign-off required.
bLatino Club- Latino Club is a club for any interested student who would like to learn more about Latino culture. Club events will include opportunities to experience Latino music dance and food. Club members will participate in activities to learn or volunteer in the Latino community.
Math Club – for students who want to work on and discuss math problems and prepare to compete in local and regional mathematics competition
Multicultural Club – members meet to discuss importance of multiculturalism and ways to promote diversity awareness, honor, respect and acceptance of all cultures within the LSW and local communities.
Outdoor Encounter Club – Outdoor Encounter Club offers a chance to do "outdoor" Experiential learning. Ropes course, climbing wall, canoeing and SCUBA diving are some of the activities offered. The club would be working on an adopt a stream project, K-State Plant materials project, school recycling project, maintaining the Outdoor Classroom and Outdoor skills that may lead to canoeing, camping and SCUBA Trips.
Recycling Club-
Science Olympiad – to promote student interest in learning and accomplishing meaningful applications in science, problem solving and exploration
Skills USA – promotes the academic, social and industrial skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce; must be enrolled in or have taken an ITE class; fundraising required.
STAND stands for Students Taking Action Now: Darfur. It is a part of the Genocide Intervention Network and is a national organization. This chapter, as well as STAND chapters all over the country, organize and educate their peers and communities, advocate to both state and national elected officials for substantial legislative action, and fundraise for civilian protection. Our overall goal is to inspire others to act as well, and to contribute to the eventual end of the genocide in Darfur.
Strategy Gaming – club for anyone interested in developing strategic thinking abilities; included but not limited to Warhammer 40K, D & D, and chess; learners welcome. See Mr. Brady about membership.
Trap Team - learn techniques of trap shooting; compete against eastern NE teams; need to pay for all associated expenses estimated at $300-500 for once/week practice and 6 meets in the spring.
