Seniors may join Seniors 2017 in Google Classroom to receive messages from the Counseling Center regarding college visits and other info pertaining to seniors. The code to enter is l9bz726 (lower case letters, starting with an "l" as in lion).

2017 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are open to students in grades 5-12 who have participated in a volunteer activity within the past year. Honors are granted at the local, state and national level. The top honorees from each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia receive a cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for four days of special recognition events.

KU Scholarship Deadline: Nov. 1

Students who apply by Nov. 1 are automatically considered for thousands of dollars in scholarships. A full list of scholarships can be found here

Crimson & Blue Days (New Name!)
Previously known as Senior Days, Crimson & Blue Days are now open to students of all ages and remain a full-day overview of KU including information on academics, financial aid and housing. The cost to attend is $15 and visitors are asked to register in advance. Fall 2017 dates include:

Oct.14, 24, or 18 and Nov. 4.

Encourage Honors Program applicants

Honors students experience highly individualized advising, engaging courses taught by outstanding faculty members and post-grad success - University Honors has a 98 percent graduate placement rate which is one of the highest in the nation. Priority application date is Nov. 1. 

FAFSA Open Oct. 1

This year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) become available on Oct. 1 and uses tax information from 2015. Encourage students to file early so they can receive a clear picture of their financial aid package earlier. KU's code is 001948.

Seton Hall's Sustainable Development Challenge is designed to engage high school students in thinking about the needs of society and the planet. We encourage students to be an agent of change and embrace the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals of fighting inequality and injustice and tackling climate change by 2030.

Ten finalists will be selected in late March to present their ideas on Friday, April 21 at Seton Hall (in person or via skype) and winning prizes will be as follows:

Seniors interested in applying for the Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship are invited to attend the STB Scholarship Workshop on Thursday, November 3rd in the B118 Forum from 3:15 to 4:00 pm.  The Susan T. Buffett Foundation has offered scholarships to Nebraska students for more than 50 years. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to first-time, entering freshmen who are residents of Nebraska and graduates of a Nebraska high school. Food Fight” is a five week food drive that DECA needs YOUR help to accomplish their goals. Last year, our school alone raised 5000 pounds! Please start bringing non-perishable food items within the next few weeks! Please bring some juice and any other food items that you want and place it in the blue barrels by the trophy cases! Thank you for helping in the “Food Fight”!
