Through the generous support of Cabela’s Incorporated and World’s Foremost Bank, the Huge Foundation awards scholarships to the top female applicants graduating from a Nebraska high school. As with the other Huge awards, recipients have access to special mentoring and internship opportunities, coordinated by the Cabela’s Women in Leadership Council.

Cabela’s Incorporated, headquartered in Sidney, Nebraska, is a leading specialty retailer, and the world’s largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping, and related outdoor merchandise.

$10,000 Scholarship ($2,500/year for four years)

Scholarship funds may be used for books, tuition, travel to and from college, tutors, or other education-related expenses.

The Lighthouse Guild scholarships help legally blind young adults make a successful transition to college, support their post-graduate education, and facilitate career development. Each year, the Lighthouse Guild scholarship program helps outstanding and deserving legally blind high school students from across the country attend college with scholarships of up to $10,000. Scholarships are based on strong academic accomplishments and merit, and provide additional financial support to help students make a successful transition from high school to a college or university of their choice. Candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need.

An additional scholarship of up to $10,000 is awarded to one or more students applying to, or currently attending, graduate school.

The application period for 2017 is open. The deadline is March 31, 2017.

Application Requirements

  1. Provide proof of legal blindness. Verification should be in the form of a statement from a state rehabilitation agency, an ophthalmologist or an optometrist.
  2. Provide proof of U.S. citizenship. A passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers or proof of legal residency.
  3. Send documentation of academic achievement. Copies of school transcripts and copies of SAT and/or ACT results.
  4. Include three letters of recommendation. Two letters should attest to your academic skills. Each letter must include the name, address and telephone number of the person writing the reference.
  5. Write two personal statements of 500 words or less. One describing your educational and personal goals, and *another on the influence of an outstanding teacher on your education (*only for the College Bound Scholarship)

Note: Applicant's chosen college must be accredited by a body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. All college admissions policies must be non-denominational and open to applicants of all religions, faiths and beliefs.

Paul High Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to anyone who is planning to enroll or is currently enrolled in an automotive 
technology program at an accredited trade school, community college, college or university.  First 
consideration will be given toward an applicant who may have ties to an organized car club that is a member 
of the ENWICC. Consideration may also be given to an individual who is pursuing the second year of the 
program and has already been awarded a scholarship for the first year.

All High School Graduates are eligible.

Distribution of Forms

All High Schools from the area in which a Car Council Club resides are to receive application forms.
Any interested individual can request the form from the Scholarship Committee of ENWICC.

Sanford Health Network Chairman's Challenge Scholarship

The Sanford Health Network Chairman’s Challenge can be submitted by an individual or group work. In the event that a group is selected, the scholarship will be divided evenly among the members of the team.

The Omaha Storm Chasers is awarding the Chasers Charities - Robinson Athletic Scholarship ($500) to one male and one female recipient in tribute to Jackie Robinson. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

Attention all woodworking students:   We have several woodworking projects here in the Woods lab that have not been taken home this school year.  We need to make room for the current students projects.  Please come claim and take you project home this week.  Beginning next Tuesday, January 17th, we will begin selling any unclaimed projects to recover our material expenses.  So please, come down to the Woods lab after school and claim your project and take it home.  Thank you.  Mr. Hennecke

Attention LSW Track and Field athletes who are NOT participating in a winter sport: remember that preseason track and field conditioning and weight training has resumed and will continue until the beginning of the track and field season. Workout times and location are posted online, in the track and field display case in the athletic hallway and in room A114.  If you have questions, please see Coach Schuster in room A114 or in the A117 TPC.

Interested in joining Principal Advisory Council? Stop by the main office and pick up an application. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 13. If you were a member of the first semester Advisory Council you don’t need to reapply, just stop by the main office or email Mr. Gillotti to continue on for second semester.
