Attention Seniors…Please make sure to check the easel in the front entry by the trophy case to make sure you have ordered your cap and gown for graduation. If you have NOT ordered a cap and gown you need to do so as soon as possible. 

2017 Graduates--Please check the list of potential 2017 graduates posted on the Attendance Office window to make sure your full LEGAL name is spelled correctly.  Diplomas will be printed as shown.  See Mrs. Carman, Registrar, if there are ANY changes.

Seniors interested in speaking at graduation should pick up an application from in the main office or Mr. Heimes.

Husker Vision (the video production department of Husker athletics) has openings for students who will be attending UNL in the fall.  Students interested in sports journalism will be especially interested in these opportunities that will involve camera work as well as editing.  Experience is not necessary to apply.

Nebraska Methodist College is holding its annual “Just Juniors Day” event on Tuesday, April 11th from 1:00-4:30 pm.   During the visit students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and and their families will have the opportunity to tour our campus, meet with faculty members and students, and learn about important next steps in preparing for college!

The Lincoln Branch NAACP is offering LPS graduating seniors the opportunity to apply for its annual scholarships. Three Community Service Scholarships will be available to LPS high school seniors with varying dollar amounts and a maximum of $1,000 per scholarship. Balancing schoolwork, athletics and one’s personal life is a difficult challenge in high school. Some students do this so well we feel they should be recognized. KLKN TV Channel 8 and Runza® Restaurants created a partnership to honor senior student-athletes for their achievements in the classroom and in the community & provide them with a $500 scholarship for college. The “Runza® KLKN Student Athlete of the Month” will be interviewed by Sports Director Brett Edwards in a special monthly segment on the 6 and 10 o’clock news broadcasts. Ailes Detasseling has applications available in the counseling center for students interested in working a de-tasseling job this summer.

Juniors, if you want to get those GOPO hours done over the summer, the Lincoln City Libraries are looking for summer reading volunteers.  There are registration forms at your local library or in the LSW counseling center.  Get a jump start on your senior year!

Want to design next year’s school t-shirt? Now is your chance! Come up with an idea for our school store t-shirt! You don’t have to be an artist, give us a basic idea and a graphic and a graphic artist can perfect it. If your design is picked you get a free shirt! Please submit all designs to lswstore15@gmail.com or drop it off at the school store when open. The deadline is April 30th. For more information check out the posters at the front entrance of the commons.

Tickets are on sale for LSW’s Spring Musical, Disney’s Mary Poppins! You can buy tickets every day at the Theatre box office from 8a.m.-4p.m. Student tickets are only $8.00.  Performances are March 30-April 9. All seats are reserved, so the sooner you and your friends get yours the better.

Hey Southwest! If you’re interested in auditioning for flight night, start preparing your performance! Auditions will be held March 28th and 29th. We are looking for all types of performers and MC’s. Please sign up in the E-wing hallway or outside the main office.
