That’s it! Complete these easy steps by December 15, 2017, and your students will earn an additional $2,000 for the next four years. That’s equivalent to $8,000 towards their college education!

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 is the deadline for the following freshmen applications at the University of Minnesota.
KU's admissions office encourage students to submit a complete admission application by the Nov. 1 priority deadline. The KU application process is quick and straightforward — no need to submit résumés or references. And if students submit a complete application by Nov. 1, KU automatically considers them for scholarships. The scholarships and qualifications are online at https://admissions.ku.edu/tuition-scholarship.

The University of Nebraska-Kearney has the following reminders for students regarding UNK's upcoming November 15th scholarship deadlines:
The Early Decision and Early Action deadlines will be here soon. Students will need to submit their applications by November 1 for Early Decision and November 15 for Early Action, and they can expect an admission decision by December 15 and January 15, respectively. We accept the Common App and our Tulane application, and there is never a fee!
Students planning to apply for one of our full-tuition scholarships must apply for admission under Early Decision or Early Action by their November deadlines. The scholarship applications are due by December 5. Learn about all of our scholarships here.
Tulane remains committed to making education affordable for any student qualified for admission. In additional to merit scholarships, Tulane offers significant need-based financial aid. We encourage applicants to submit the FAFSA and the CSS Profile financial aid forms now and preferably by mid-December for Early Action and Early Decision applicants. For the 2017-18 school year, 77% of freshmen received financial aid with an average package of $45,312 for students with demonstrated need. Tulane also offers a special need-based aid program for families with an adjusted gross income of $75,00 or less.

Attention Students who need to earn Community Service Hours! Help out with the Enchanted Forest at the Community Crops Garden located at 40th and Pine Lake on Oct. 29, 4-6pm (2 hours shift). All students interested in joining the Trap Team in the upcoming spring season are required to complete the Hunter Safety course offered by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Make plans to complete the course as soon as possible. Consult the Game and Parks website, outdoor nebraska.gov for course schedules and enrollment. See Mrs. Stopp with any questions.
Student Council is collecting items for their Hurricane Relief Drive in the front of the commons. Please consider donating sanitary supplies, diapers and canned food. Items will be collected throughout this week. Remember every little bit helps.
LSW's Trip to Japan in 2019 -The Sister-School Program at Southwest is doing amazing things in connecting our students with others from around the world! From an interactive penpal/Skype program to foreign exchange opportunities, Southwest's global connections are expanding. One fantastic opportunity open to all LSW students is our every-other-year trip to visit our sister-school in Japan, Senshu Matsudo! Our next trip will be in July of 2019, and include a 3-night homestay with a Senshu family, and a 9-day tour of Japan hosted by EF Tour Company! Some of the many fantastic tour stops include sites in Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Odawara, and Kyoto! In need of homework help? The Library holds free help and tutoring with homework in the Academic Resource Center on Tuesdays during PLC and Thursdays after school! The writing center is also available to help with papers and essays for classes.
