The Hawk Talk school newspaper will be distributed to second block classes on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Extras may be picked up in C110 or the main office.

PLAN TEST Thursday, Nov. 6th at 8:15am for ALL SOPHOMORES Testing room assignments will be posted on the Main Office windows. Teachers also have a list of room assignments. Testing begins promptly at 8:15am. Students who do not report for the test will be required to do makeup testing at a later date. This will require them to be pulled from class. They will be responsible for any work missed while they are gone from class.

LATE START Thursday, Nov. 6th for FRESHMEN, JUNIORS & SENIORS ONLY. Block 1 begins at 10:40am. Students in grades 9, 11 and 12 who arrive at school during the PLAN testing period will be required to report to a guided study hall where they can study, complete homework or read. They will not be allowed in any other area(s) of the building

Senior Picture List A list of seniors, who turned in their picture for the yearbook, will be posted in the front office window by Friday, Nov. 7. Please check the list to see if your photo was turned in. Yearbook staff meets first block in C110 during second term if you have questions. So check the list and contact your photographer if your name is not checked off. If yearbook does not receive a submitted picture, the staff will use either your Lifetouch photo or the senior ID photo, if available to us. Thanks.

Attention Seniors who are interested in applying to Peru State, Chadron State, and Wayne State College, there will be an application day on Wednesday, November 5th at 9:00-10:30 AM. Please sign up in the Counseling Center ahead of time so we can prepare your transcripts. This application day will take place in the Media Center computer lab.

The Council for America's First Freedom announces the 16th annual First Freedom Student Competition. This national essay contest offers 9th-12th graders an opportunity to compete for monetary rewards of up to $3,000, as they examine the First Amendment and the history and relevance of religious freedom in American and the world today. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites U.S. high school students to write an original essay on the political courage of a U.S. elected official. Scholarships awarded to winners. Outstanding Young Volunteer of the Year Award - The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. - $5,000 Savings Bond & trip awarded to student, ages 12 to 15, who has provided outstanding volunteer service to his or her community.
