Flight Night, student council’s annual talent show, is the Saturday! The show starts at 7p.m. in the LSW auditorium and it’s $5.00 at the door. There will be snacks, art and amazing performers! See you there!
Seniors: What do GoPo hours and graduation have in Common? To graduate, GoPo hours must be completed ASAP, especially for students who have an Incomplete from Terms 1, 2 or 3 because of not completing hours when taking GoPo during one of those terms. If in doubt about the status of your hours, contact your GoPo teacher!
This message is very important for LPS Seniors (graduates) with data on Google Drive that they wish to take with them. EVERY Senior is encouraged to retrieve this data prior to leaving LPS. Even if you are unsure if you will ever want it, it is very important to grab it NOW. As soon as you leave LPS (even the day after leaving) your files are no longer available to you.

Seniors and juniors who may need financial and college planning assistance are encouraged to visit with RJ Vega, EducationQuest College Planning/Financial Aid Specialist, whose last day at LSW will be Wednesday, May 1st. To sign up for a time, please go https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0a4fada82aa3f49-meet. As a reminder, all services provided by EducationQuest are at no cost to students and families.
Seniors are also reminded that May 1st is the national deadline to notify the colleges/universities they will be attending and to decline acceptance from all other schools they have been admitted to.
This Sunday, April 28th, is the Lincoln Area College Fair, held at Southeast Community College from 1 to 3pm. This event is ideally placed for juniors looking to get information from local, regional, and national colleges and universities, but all grade levels are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Interested students should register for a barcode to quickly share their relevant information with colleges in which they are interested at NebraskaCollegeFairs.org; there are also posters around school with a Snapcode to register via Snapchat. These barcodes may be printed and brought to the fair or downloaded to your phone.
Stop into the Counseling Center for a list of colleges attending or to have any questions answered. Happy college hunting!
LPS Summer School will be held at North Star from May 29th through July 11th. Interested students may visit with their assigned counselor and register according to the following dates:
Late registration ONLY will be held from May 28th - 30th at North Star.
Tuition for Summer School is must be paid at the time of registration and costs are listed below:
Students are reminded that they may only have 3 absences during summer school. This includes absences due to late registration or illness. For students who are wards of the state, the HHS guardian must have a completed State Ward Provider form attached to the student's summer school registration form prior to completing the registration process.

Student council application deadline is approaching. All applications are due to the main office or Mrs. Hammers by Friday at 3:30 pm. No late applications will be accepted!
Reminder, all flight night performers need to be in the auditorium right after school on Wednesday for the dress rehearsal. Also, make sure to bring Mrs. Hammers your music file by Tuesday after school at the latest! No youtube music files!
Preliminary prom royalty voting will take place in front of the trophy cases today-Thursday this week. Voting is for juniors and seniors only. Bring your ID.
Reminder to new NHS inductees: If you are interested in becoming an officer for the 2019-2020 school year please email Mrs. Vargas with your name and position of interest by the end of the day Wednesday so that ballots can be made for Thursday's election.
Interested in getting a taste of French culture? Bring along a friend and try a variety of French desserts and join our French Club end of the year celebration at Le Quartier next Thursday at 4:00. The fee is $6 per person by Tuesday. Talk to Mme Van Zandt or Mme Christenson if you’re interested.
Do you want to travel to the Galapagos Islands in the summer of 2020? Mr. Bittle and Mr. Schrad will be leading a group of LSW students to the Galapagos. If you are interested in traveling, please see Mr. Bittle or Mr. Schrad on April 24th at the parent meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the A100 Forum. This meeting is for new travelers and not those already signed up.
The Clothing Textiles and Design class has created ties and scarves for all the administrators. Please stop by the display in the commons during your lunch to vote for your favorite tie or scarf by placing your coins and bills into the corresponding bucket. All moneys collect will benefit flood victims. Thank you for your support.
Students are reminded that the Prom Market is available in the Counseling Center until May 3rd. If you're looking for a dress to say "Yes!" to, then check out the great selection of dresses available. Many have been donated by supermodel & LSW alum, Ashley Graham. There are also suit jackets, shirts & ties for guys! Shoes are also available in men's & women's sizes. All items available at the Prom Market are free to students! Shop soon as many outfits have already found new homes!
Jr./Sr. Prom tickets go on sale the last week of April. All fines will need to be taken care of to be eligible to purchase a prom ticket.

April is School Library Month and this year’s theme is Everyone Belongs. To celebrate the ladies in the library invite you to take part in the Reading Without Walls Challenge. Reading Without Walls is an inclusive way to spread appreciation and understanding for others. Complete the challenge and be entered to win a $20.00 Barnes and Noble gift card. LSW has a year-round food pantry available to all LSW families. Student or parents can fill the form out online— enter jump code BCY3 at lps.org to get there— or stop into the LSW Counseling Center to get set up, either as-needed or on a repeating basis (standing order). There are a number breakfast foods, canned goods, and lots of yummy things to eat right away or keep in your cupboards for later, all for free! Let us know if we can help.
