BRYANLGH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES MEDICAL CAREERS SUMMER CAMP - Must be a sophomore, junior or senior during the 2009-2010 school year. June 8-12 - $250 - Registration deadline is Friday, May 1. Congratulations to the speech team for finishing as runners-up at the A1 District Speech Meet on Saturday. Special congrats to our state qualifiers: Mary Metz (Serious & Poetry), Will Folsom (Humorous), Chad Hassebrook (Poetry), Kelsey Arends (Informative), Nealesh Padhye (Persuasive), Caitlin Lukin (Entertainment), Christina Mayer (Extemp), Aleem Malik (Extemp), Andrew Francis & Austin Blankenau (Duet and OID), Jenay Sheridan, Bess Folsom, & Grant Thomas (OID). These students will compete at the state contest in Kearney on March 19th.

Congrats to the debate team for winning the Northeast Invitational on Saturday--the 5th championship in a row! Special congrats to finalists Paul Poulsen, Jake Heidelk, Charles Chen, Noemi Berkowitz, Jack Zhang, Bilal Kamal, Diana Martinez, Sarah O'Neill, Alex Janssen, Kaitlyn Steinacher and Jordy Schliesser.

Students interested in trying out for the Emeralds Dance Team there is a mandatory parent/dancer meeting Tuesday, March 10th at 5:30pm in Room A113. Tryouts begin April 7th.

2009 Graduates--Please check the list of 2009 graduates posted on the Attendance Office window to make sure your legal name is spelled correctly. Diplomas will be printed as shown. See Mrs. Carman, Registrar, if there are ANY changes.

Students planning on attending UNL or UNK--- the University of Nebraska Math Placement exam will be offered here at LSW on Wednesday, April 1st. Students interested in taking the placement exam need to register in the Counseling center before March 5th. Questions, see Mr. Ahlschwede in the Math department or Ms. Tegeler in the Counseling center.

THE PRESIDENT'S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD: Applications are now available from the Counseling Center and the Main Office. Forms need to be turned into Keri Applebee in the Main Office or Jake Sedivy in the Theatre Box Office by March 16, 2009. Volunteer service hours should be for hours worked from January 2008 - December 31, 2008. One form needed for each volunteer site.

Lincoln Air Force Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps Program (AFJROTC) The AFJROTC program is grounded in the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. The curriculum emphasizes the Air Force heritage and traditions, the development of flight, applied flight sciences, military aerospace policies, and space exploration. Students from across the district will be given the opportunity to enroll in the classes offered at Northeast. Students can enroll in up to 10 credits per school year or one class per semester. Courses will be offered each semester and be available several periods a day at Lincoln Northeast. These classes will be taught by Air Force Officers who hold a Nebraska Teaching Certificate. INFORMATIONAL MEETING: Interested students and their parents are invited to attend an AFJROTC Informational Meeting at LNE.
