Congratulations to the debate team for finishing in 4th place at the State Tournament! Special congrats to Paul Poulsen (semifinalist in LD), Maddie Bien/Sarah O'Neill (quarterfinals of PF), Kaitlyn Steinacher/Alex Janssen (quarterfinals of PF), Michael Crelin (5th in Super Congress), Jordy Schliesser (6th in Super Congress), Ben Crelin (Super Congress finalist), and Christina Mayer (Super Congress finalist).

Congratulations to the speech team for finishing in 6th place at the State Tournament! Special congrats to finalists Caitlin Lukin (2nd in Entertainment), Mary Metz (3rd in Poetry), Kelsey Arends (4th in Informative), Nealesh Padhye (6th in Persuasive), and Aleem Malik (7th in Extemp).

In breaking news...Will Folsom officially finished in 2nd place at the NFL tournament and is now qualified for nationals. Congrats Will!!!

Lincoln Air Force Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps Program (AFJROTC) Interested students and their parents are invited to attend an AFJROTC Informational Meeting at LNE on April 23rd at 6:30pm in the Commons Representatives from the AFJROTC Program along with Northeast Counselors will present information about the program and answer any questions. JUNIORS - If you are an OUTSTANDING STUDENT, COLLEGE BOUND & LOW INCOME, you might want to apply for the 2009 QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship program. The College Prep Scholarship application is available on-line at http://www.questbridge.org. The application is free of charge and is due March 31, 2009. Juniors Please check out the NAVAL ACADEMY SUMMER SEMINAR Program. This is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers. If you think that you may be interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies or pursuing an ROTC Scholarship, you should seriously consider attending the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar. BRYANLGH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES MEDICAL CAREERS SUMMER CAMP - Must be a sophomore, junior or senior during the 2009-2010 school year. June 8-12 - $250 - Registration deadline is Friday, May 1. AUTOMOTIVE SUMMER CAMP - Hands-on opportunity to experience what it would be like to pursue a career in the automotive field. SCC Milford Campus - June 12 & 13, 2009. Summer Health Professions Career Workshop - July 28-31 @ University of NE Medical Center in Omaha - For students entering their JR year, who have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and who have an interest in the health professions. JUNIORS interested in an APPOINTMENT TO THE U.S. MILITARY, NAVAL, AIR FORCE & MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMIES with academy classes starting in July, 2010, should see your counselor for information and the Application for Nomination to the U.S. Service Academies. The application must be postmarked by October 31, 2009, to Senator Nelson's Omaha office in order to begin your file for nomination.
