Our 10th grade screening day will be Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025.
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 79-249 provides statutory authority to the Department of Health and Human Services to outline minimum requirements and regulations for school health screening. The purpose of screening is to identify those students needing further evaluation or assistance in the areas screened. Parents/guardians are notified of the screening result if the student is found to need further evaluation, as determined by a qualified screener and comparison of individual data with an objective standard. The cost of such evaluation shall be borne by the parent or guardian of the student.
A parent or guardian may submit current screening results from a physical examination or well child examination within the last six months preceding the school’s scheduled health screening in lieu of school health screening. This needs to be turned into the Health Office before the screening day begins.
Students in Nebraska schools are screened per state requirements for vision, hearing, dental health, and height/weight.
Please reach out to the Health Office with any questions or concerns at (402) 436-1306 opt 7.
